Localization

Localization is just conversion of strings of one language to another Language… Right?

My Views/answer to this question is NO! It’s something more than that… if you are already a localizer you are aware of the importance of localization and your big responsibility.
Yes! Localization is a big responsibility it’s not just some string conversion
The question to new FSA’s may arises is then, what exactly is Localization?
Localization is the way of converting the foreign language strings… and give those strings a feel of local language strings… While reading the strings at once only you must get the feel and pure authenticity that the string was created in our local language itself… and for the locals

So, 1) it’s a matter of feel and authenticity!

Localization is not only limited to the matter of feel… it’s a way of preserving the ancient languages which have been carried forward by our forefather’s and that is what makes the Localizer’s so important as they handle a very big responsibility

2)   it’s the way of preserving the ancient languages which have been carried forward by our forefather’s

This are my two important views of localization where we can have a vast discussion on the topic localization.

Here, come Priya our one of the best Localizer of the  Mozilla Nashik Community one of the very active and top contributor to Marathi localization

Time to play

We have planned one game for FSA’s to understood better Localization,

It was an interactive “Competition” on Localization it was a fun Game of Conversion of English strings to the Local Marathi/Hindi language 😀

Game was like this, each one has to give one word in English to their fellow FSA and then they need to translate in to their local language, this same to pass by one by one. Had lots of fun. 🙂
